The place
On the Singapore River, a contemporary-art workshop and gallery wholly devoted to experimentation in print and paper.
Established in 2002 in a restored nineteenth-century warehouse on the Singapore River at Robertson Quay, STPI is a creative workshop and contemporary-art gallery specialising in experimentation in print and paper. The presses and expertise of American master printer Kenneth E. Tyler were brought there, with a paper mill installed.
STPI has collaborated with more than ninety artists from around the world. Each project begins with a residency at the workshop, supported by a team of specialists, pushing the boundaries of traditional printmaking and often producing significant new bodies of work — which makes it an Asian reference in the field.
The so-luxe client can visit the gallery, discover the workshop and follow the thread of a residency. so-luxe advises and guides acquisition: an introduction to the team, insight into the editions arising from residencies, and discreet follow-up of the purchase.
