The place
A reference New York publisher and gallery for contemporary prints, from master-printer workshops to the Chelsea walls.
Founded in 1968, Pace Prints (Pace Editions) is both a publisher of original limited-edition prints and a gallery that exhibits them. Its world is one of making: Manhattan printmaking workshops where artists etch, cut wood and print, in a lineage tracing back to master printer Aldo Crommelynck, who printed Picasso’s etchings.
The house has published etchings, Japanese-style woodcuts, screenprints and intaglios by more than one hundred and fifty artists, among them Sol LeWitt, Robert Ryman, James Turrell, Kiki Smith and Yoshitomo Nara. It exhibits in its New York galleries and at the major international fairs, which makes it a reference in contemporary prints.
The so-luxe client can discover the workshops’ practice and access both recent editions and archive pieces. so-luxe advises and guides acquisition: an introduction to the publisher, insight into process and edition, and confidential follow-up.
